The Ba Golf Club is preparing to host an important Stableford tournament tomorrow, generously sponsored by Mahendra Gopal, a businessman from Canada. This event is seen as a vital build-up to the eagerly awaited East vs. West golf clash scheduled for August 3.

Asish Chand, the captain of Ba Golf Club, emphasized the importance of Gopal and his wife Anita Persaud’s support, as they have committed $8,000 this season for local golf initiatives. “The dedication of Gopal and his family to the development of golf in Fiji is remarkable,” said Chand. “Their investment is crucial in helping us organize competitive, well-structured tournaments that will foster the growth of golf at both club and national levels.”

Tomorrow’s tournament will follow a Stableford format and is open to players from other clubs as well. It features an entry fee of $20, with registration starting at 9:00 AM and tee-off at 9:30 AM. Participants have the opportunity to win prizes for the top four placements in all grades, as well as nearest the pin awards on all par 3 holes.

This event not only showcases the strength of community support but also highlights the growing popularity of golf in Fiji. Continuing to attract both local and international interest, the tournament reflects a promising future for the sport in the region and encourages a sense of camaraderie among golfers.

Overall, with backing from dedicated sponsors and a solid participation base, the Ba Golf Club aims to build an engaging atmosphere that celebrates the joy of golf and the community spirit that accompanies it.
