Telecom Fiji Limited, in collaboration with the Fiji Cancer Society (FCS), recently celebrated the successful completion of the annual Telecom Fiji Charity Golf Tournament, which took place last month at the Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva. Now in its third year, this eagerly awaited event attracted enthusiastic golfers, community leaders, and supporters, successfully raising a record-breaking $33,420—marking the highest total raised since the tournament’s inception.
Telecom Fiji has shown unwavering support for this important cause. This year’s donations surpassed previous totals of $25,137 in 2023 and $19,288 in 2022, highlighting the ongoing growth and impact of the event as well as the kindness of its participants.
The funds raised will be instrumental for the Fiji Cancer Society in expanding its outreach programs, enhancing resources, and improving patient support services, including the acquisition of crucial equipment for cancer testing, diagnosis, and care. Additionally, the event aligned with the Movember initiative by offering free PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) screenings, conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Health, thus underscoring the vital importance of early detection and preventive health care.
