Ninety golfers are set to compete in the monthly medal stroke event today at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, according to sponsorship chairman Mohammed Buksh. The event, sponsored by Die Xin Construction Ltd, will feature a mix of seasoned players and enthusiastic youths.

Teeing off at 8 AM and continuing until 1 PM, the event’s success largely hinges on favorable weather conditions. Buksh mentioned that if the conditions are poor, the competition may be postponed. “It really depends on the weather; if it’s good, we will proceed, but if not, we might have to delay the competition,” he explained.

Last week, participants enjoyed beautiful weather during the Fiji Cancer Society charity golf competition, which was a notable success. This weekend, while other competitions are taking place across the country, many club members are looking forward to participating in this event.

The inclusion of young players is particularly encouraging, signifying a dedication to fostering the development of golf among the younger generation. “It’s great to see the youths taking part in the competition, learning and advancing the sport,” Buksh remarked.

The event also highlights the importance of community support, with gratitude expressed to Die Xin Construction Ltd for enabling such an inclusive event that encourages participation from all skill levels.

In summary, today’s event not only promotes healthy competition and sportsmanship among golfers but also emphasizes the grassroots development of golf in Fiji, which is promising for the future of the sport. With community support and positive weather, it is poised to be a memorable day for all involved.
