The Team Fiji men’s rugby sevens squad received a warm welcome at their training base in Libourne, France, earlier this week.

Libourne Mayor Philippe Buisson expressed pride and great honor in hosting the defending Olympic Games gold medal champions in sevens rugby.

“I thank the Fiji team for promoting the values of this sport to our young people,” Buisson stated.

The Osea Kolinisau-coached team will train in Libourne before moving to the Games Village, with the men’s sevens rugby competition at the Paris Olympic Games set to commence on July 24.

The competition will pause on July 26 for the official Olympic Games opening ceremony, with the finals resuming on July 27.

Today, the Fiji men’s rugby sevens team will spend an hour with the public at the Moueix Stadium.
