Going Green: Holy Cross College U15 Fans Rally from Taveuni for History-Making Match!

Holy Cross College’s U15 team was met with an enthusiastic crowd of supporters who traveled from the island of Taveuni to cheer them on during their quarter-final match against Suva Grammar School in Suva yesterday.

The atmosphere at Buckhurst Park was vibrant, filled with fans wearing green school t-shirts in support of their team. Among those present was parent Asenca Bogitolu, who shared that they arrived on the mainland on Wednesday and are currently staying at the Vatuwaqa parish.

“We are excited that Holy Cross College has reached the Dean’s quarter-finals for the first time,” Bogitolu stated. “Getting to this stage is a significant accomplishment for us.”

She also expressed gratitude for the support the team has received throughout the tournament, noting the overwhelming encouragement from the community, especially from alumni.

“There has been great support for the boys during their preparations. We faced some challenges, but we appreciate all the encouragement,” she said. “Fundraisers and Kava barrels helped us make it here. We ensured our t-shirts were coordinated to show our support. No matter the outcome, we are proud to have reached the quarter-finals.”
