Kitione Baleloa, the Futsal IDC’s Golden Glove recipient, has been welcomed to Labasa’s Pacific Community Cup squad as a guest player. The skilled goalkeeper, who currently plays Futsal for champions Suva, is stepping in to provide support for veteran goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.

Labasa’s head coach, Ravneel Pratap, explained that the inclusion of Baleloa was necessary due to the unavailability of other goalkeepers. “Jitoko Vulava is away for work commitments as he is attending a training course with the Fiji Police Force, while Joji Vuakaca is recovering from an injury and won’t be able to participate in the Pacific Cup,” Pratap noted.

Coach Pratap expressed confidence in Baleloa’s abilities, stating, “Kitione is in good shape and has agreed to join us. We are happy to have him on board.” In addition, players Asaeli Tunidau and Sakiusa Saqiri from Tailevu Naitasiri have also joined Labasa for the tournament.

Labasa is set to kick off its campaign against the USA All Stars at 4:30 PM today, and the team is optimistic about its prospects in the competition.

This development highlights the spirit of collaboration and support within the sports community. The proactive approach of Labasa in bringing in Baleloa underlines their commitment to success in the Pacific Community Cup.
