The global community is currently facing unprecedented challenges, including poverty, violence, loss of biodiversity, climate change, health crises, and issues related to development.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka shared these insights during the Forum Leaders Dialogue at the Tonga High School Indoor Stadium alongside the UN Secretary-General. He emphasized that the diverse and urgent threats to the world are indicative of ongoing global changes, asserting that collective action is essential.

Rabuka underscored the importance of strong international cooperation, diplomacy, and a commitment to upholding the ideals of the United Nations.

In response, UN Secretary-General António Guterres reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to the Pacific Islands, stating, “You can be assured that every member of the UN staff working in your countries will be dedicated to community-based and people-centered solutions.”
