Global Challenges Demand Unity: Rabuka’s Call to Action

The global community is currently facing unprecedented challenges such as poverty, violence, biodiversity loss, climate change, health crises, and development issues.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka shared these insights during the Forum Leaders Dialogue at the Tonga High School Indoor Stadium, alongside the UN Secretary-General.

He emphasized that the diversity and urgency of today’s threats highlight the changing landscape of the world and that collective action is the essential answer to these challenges.

Rabuka stressed the importance of robust international cooperation, diplomacy, and a commitment to upholding the principles of the United Nations.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to the Pacific Islands, stating, “You can be assured that every member of the UN staff working in your countries will be dedicated to community-based and people-centered solutions.”
