The global community is currently facing unprecedented challenges such as poverty, violence, biodiversity loss, climate change, health issues, and development concerns.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka highlighted these issues during the Forum Leaders Dialogue held at the Tonga High School Indoor Stadium in the presence of the UN Secretary General.

Rabuka emphasized that the diverse and urgent threats the world faces today are indicative of ongoing global changes, and he called for collective action as the most effective response. He underscored that strong international cooperation, diplomacy, and a commitment to upholding UN principles are essential.

UN Secretary General António Guterres reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to the Pacific Islands, stating, “You can be assured that every member of the UN staff working in your countries will be dedicated to community-based and people-centered solutions.”
