The global community is currently facing unprecedented challenges such as poverty, violence, loss of biodiversity, climate change, health crises, and development issues.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka shared these insights during the Forum Leaders Dialogue at the Tonga High School Indoor Stadium alongside the UN Secretary-General.
The diverse and immediate threats the world is experiencing today indicate significant changes occurring globally. Rabuka emphasized that collective action is the only feasible response to these challenges.
He underscored the importance of robust international collaboration, effective diplomacy, and a commitment to upholding the values of the United Nations.
In response, UN Secretary-General António Guterres affirmed the UN’s ongoing commitment to the Pacific Islands.
He stated, “You can be assured that every member of the UN staff working in your countries will be dedicated to solutions that are community-oriented and centered around people.”
