The global community is currently facing unprecedented challenges, including poverty, violence, loss of biodiversity, climate change, health crises, and developmental issues.
During the Forum Leaders Dialogue at the Tonga High School Indoor Stadium, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka emphasized these points in discussions with the UN Secretary General.
Rabuka noted that the diverse and urgent threats facing the world are indicative of ongoing changes. He asserted that collective action remains the only viable path forward.
He stressed the importance of robust international cooperation, diplomacy, and a commitment to upholding the ideals of the United Nations.
UN Secretary General António Guterres reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to the Pacific Islands. He assured, “You can be confident that every member of the UN staff working in your countries will be dedicated to community-focused and people-centered solutions.”
