The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) has expressed its approval following the announcement by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) that Glasgow will host the 2026 Commonwealth Games. The event is scheduled to occur from July 23 to August 2, 2026, marking the return of the Games to the Scottish city after 12 years since the successful 2014 edition.
The Games will feature a compact program of ten sports held across four venues within an eight-mile radius, aimed at creating an exciting and convenient experience for both athletes and fans. Fiji has a history of success at the Commonwealth Games, having earned four gold medals, seven silver medals, and twelve bronze medals in 17 competitions. Apolonia Vaivai’s bronze medal in weightlifting at the 2014 Glasgow Games highlights their achievements.
