The Nadera Panthers Rugby League Club has received a generous enhancement to its equipment, thanks to a donation of jerseys and kits from Marj Parr, a former Fiji netball star. Parr, who made her mark as a player for both the Fiji national netball team and the Sydney Swifts, delivered the kits during her visit to Fiji while coaching the South Coast Blaze at the Baby Pearls Invitational Tournament.

“I am thrilled to see the uniforms being worn with pride by the young Panthers. Hopefully, this donation will inspire them to represent Fiji at the national level one day,” Parr expressed, emphasizing the importance of supporting local sports initiatives. The kits were donated by the Collegians Junior Rugby League Club in Wollongong, where her son currently plays.

Team Manager Maria Lynch also conveyed her appreciation, highlighting the relationship between the clubs and the meaningfulness of the donation to Nadera. Head Coach Vula Dakuitoga echoed this sentiment, stating his gratitude for such a meaningful contribution and the positive impact it will have on the club’s young athletes.

Founded in 1992, the Nadera Panthers have established themselves as a prominent rugby league club in Fiji, with teams ranging from Under 12s to senior divisions for both men and women. This latest donation exemplifies the community support that plays a crucial role in nurturing the talents of young athletes, underscoring the belief that acts of kindness can foster greater opportunities in sports.

In related news, the Vodafone Cup Eastern League competition has been postponed to next week due to ground availability issues, setting the stage for the Panthers’ future matches and continued involvement in the sport.

This act of generosity not only supports the players but also reinforces the value of community connections. Engaging in sports can inspire young people again while encouraging them to aspire to higher levels in their athletic pursuits.
