The situation in Gaza has taken another grim turn as Israeli military operations persist, resulting in the deaths of at least 60 Palestinians, according to local health authorities. The intensified assault on Gaza City and the broader Gaza Strip includes the dismantling of underground infrastructures and targeted strikes on high-rise buildings, part of a broader strategy by Israel’s military. The recent surge in violence coincides with plans by ten countries to recognize an independent Palestinian state, a move expected to be formalized shortly before the annual U.N. General Assembly.
In the ongoing conflict, Israel asserts that over 20 tower blocks have been demolished, causing the displacement of more than 500,000 people since September.
