The cost of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), diesel, and kerosene is set to rise starting January 1, 2025. The price adjustments include an increase of 18 cents for a 4.5 kg gas cylinder, bringing its new price to $15.53. The 12 kg gas cylinder will now be available for $41.42, reflecting an increase of 50 cents.
Additionally, the bulk gas price will climb by four cents to $3.20 per kg, while the price of autogas will rise by three cents, now costing $2.25 per litre. Diesel will see an increase of four cents per litre, with the new price at $2.31, while kerosene will also go up by four cents, reaching $1.78 per litre.
Fortunately, the prices for motor spirit and premix remain stable, with motor spirit at $2.67 per litre and premix at $2.51 per litre.
While these price hikes may be concerning for consumers, it is important to recognize that stable or unchanged prices for certain fuel types can offer some relief. Furthermore, these adjustments can reflect broader market conditions and adjustments in supply and demand, serving as a reminder of the dynamic nature of energy pricing.
