The prices for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) products, diesel, and kerosene will see an increase starting tomorrow, January 1, 2025. A 4.5 kg cylinder of gas will now cost $15.53, reflecting an increase of 18 cents from the previous price of $15.35. Meanwhile, the price of a 12 kg cylinder will rise by 50 cents, bringing it to $41.42.
In bulk, gas will have a price increase of four cents, now retailing at $3.20 per kg. The autogas price will also see an increase of three cents, setting the new cost at $2.25 per litre. Diesel and kerosene prices have each risen by four cents per litre. Consumers will now pay $2.31 for a litre of diesel and $1.78 for a litre of kerosene. However, the retail prices for motor spirit and premix remain stable at $2.67 per litre and $2.51 per litre, respectively.
While any price increase can be a burden on consumers, it also reflects ongoing adjustments in the energy market. Continued investments in alternative energy sources and technological advancements may help stabilize future fuel prices and promote energy sustainability.
