Starting from January 1, 2025, consumers will see a rise in the prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) products, diesel, and kerosene. Specifically, the price of a 4.5 kg gas cylinder will increase by 18 cents, bringing its new price to $15.53. The cost of a 12 kg cylinder will also rise, now priced at $41.42 after a 50-cent hike.

In addition, bulk gas prices will go up by four cents, resulting in a new retail price of $3.20 per kilogram. Autogas will also see a minor increase, rising by three cents to $2.25 per litre. Diesel and kerosene will both increase by four cents per litre, with diesel now costing $2.31 and kerosene priced at $1.78.

On a more stable note, the prices for motor spirit and premix will remain the same, at $2.67 and $2.51 per litre, respectively.

While these price adjustments may pose challenges for consumers, it is important to recognize the broader market dynamics that contribute to such changes. Economic factors, including supply chain fluctuations and global oil market trends, are often at play.

This situation highlights the importance of energy conservation and seeking alternative energy solutions to mitigate exposure to fluctuating prices. Emphasizing energy efficiency and exploring renewable energy options can help consumers adapt to these changes, fostering a more sustainable future.
