Last Friday, students from Nadroga Arya College participated in their second cadet passing-out parade in Sigatoka, showcasing their military training despite the challenging heat. Led by instructors from the Republic of Fiji Military Force, the cadets demonstrated impressive military routines learned over several weeks.
Awards were presented during the event, with standout students recognized for their achievements. Jokaveti Grace Kamoro was honored as the Most Improved Female Cadet, while Soropepeli Vuniyayawa was awarded Most Improved Male Cadet. Livia Raitala earned the title of Best Detachment Commander, and the Overall Baton of Honour went to Parade Commander Qaunawa Waqatabu. The Most Disciplined Detachment was awarded to Number 3, while Number 1 took home the Best Detachment in Drill award.
The parade was officiated by Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu, who urged the cadets to respect the rule of law and heed authority. This sentiment echoes previous speeches delivered at cadet events, where the importance of discipline and community contribution was emphasized. For instance, Colonel Jofiliti Talemaibau, speaking at other recent cadet parades, highlighted the role of young people as vital resources for Fiji’s future, advocating for their growth to become responsible leaders in their communities.
These cadet programs play a crucial role in fostering discipline and teamwork among the youth, offering them valuable skills that will aid them in their future endeavors. The impactful training received not only prepares them for military life but also equips them to face societal challenges with resilience.
Overall, the commitment shown by the Nadroga Arya College cadets reflects the potential of Fiji’s youth, paving the way toward a brighter future for the nation.
