Jaanvi Swaram Kumar, a Year 13 student at Tilak High School in Lautoka, has recently been honored with the prestigious Dux Award for her exceptional academic performance. Demonstrating her strong aptitude for science and mathematics, Kumar achieved an impressive score of 384 out of 400 in her external examinations, which included a perfect 100 in mathematics, alongside notable scores of 89 in English, 99 in Chemistry, 97 in Physics, and 92 in Biology.

Reflecting on her achievements, Kumar expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from her parents, which played a crucial role in her preparation for the exams. “At times I felt like giving up, but I think the road to success is never easy,” she stated, showcasing her resilience and determination.

Kumar dedicates her award to her elder siblings and parents, recognizing their contributions to her achievements. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Fiji National University. Her ambition doesn’t stop there; she aspires to make significant contributions to medical research that can enhance the understanding of diseases and develop advanced treatments.
