Futsal Frenzy: 25 Teams Battle for Glory at IDC 2024!

The Tebara Hardware Muslim Futsal IDC 2024 is currently taking place at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva, featuring 25 teams competing over three days. This is an increase from last year’s participation, indicating the growing interest in the tournament.

Organized by the Fiji Muslim Sports Association, this marks the second year of the event, which has already seen significant success. Mohammad Faruk, the association’s vice-president, highlighted the competitiveness and excitement of the matches.

“There are various divisions in the competition, including the main division, masters division, under-15 grade, and Legends grade,” stated Faruk. “Each team is striving for victory, with a prize of $1,000 awarded to the winners of each category.”

The tournament has showcased impressive talent, particularly among the under-15 teams, providing a thrilling experience for both players and fans alike. Faruk also acknowledged the vital support from major sponsors, including Signs Pacific Nadi, Safety Rentals Cars, and Tebara Hardware, which has been instrumental in bringing this event to fruition.

In the main grade results, Ba played to a 3-3 draw with Nadi, Makoi tied with Suva 4-4, Drasa narrowly defeated Nasinu 4-3, Navua triumphed over Sigatoka 6-3, and Valelevu beat Nasinu 6-0. Additionally, Sigatoka secured a 3-1 win against South Leg.

The Muslim Futsal competition is set to conclude today.
