Sam’s focus will be on identifying talents who could potentially be included in future national futsal programs.

He stated that the Futsal IDC is renowned for its intense competition, making it an excellent opportunity for players to demonstrate their skills. Sam is particularly excited about the chance to discover and nurture players that might have previously gone unnoticed, stressing the importance of early talent identification for long-term development.

“My role as head coach is to pinpoint talent now, ensuring they can be integrated into our programs for the future,” Sam said. He also called on futsal enthusiasts to rally behind their favorite teams during the tournament.

This competition will feature eight teams from across the nation, offering players a crucial platform that could lead to opportunities for representation on the international stage.

The event not only highlights the passion for futsal in Fiji but also provides a promising pathway for emerging athletes to gain recognition and possibly earn a spot on the national team. It reflects a hopeful future for Fiji’s futsal landscape as the sport continues to develop and thrive.
