A substantial financial boost of $100,000 has been allocated to support two businesses in Macuata, Fiji. This funding will assist in the construction of a bakery and the establishment of homestay accommodations for visitors in Korovou, near Naduri. The initiative, aimed at enhancing local tourism, is supported by the iTaukei Trust Fund Board.

According to Ifereimi Vasu, the Minister for iTaukei Affairs, the funds are intended to improve the living standards in Korovou and its surrounding areas. Vasu noted that this homestay project marks the first of its kind in the Macuata region, emphasizing the potential for creating a safe and welcoming environment for guests.

The minister also mentioned that the bakery will offer additional support to the local communities of Korovou and Naduri, making fresh baked goods more accessible and beneficial to residents. With the establishment of these two businesses, there is an expectation for collaborative efforts that foster community ties and create job opportunities, particularly for the youth.

Vasu highlighted that the successful implementation of these initiatives could encourage more entrepreneurial ventures in the region, ultimately leading to sustained economic growth and better community welfare.

Overall, this initiative represents a hopeful step towards revitalizing the local economy and enhancing tourism in Macuata, while providing essential services to the community.
