Joel Abraham, the CEO of the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC), emphasized the organization’s commitment to maintaining affordability for families in Fiji. He explained that these changes are part of the FCCC’s efforts to protect consumers from fluctuations in the global market. Abraham acknowledged the challenges rising costs pose in everyday life and reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to keeping essential commodities, like fuel, reasonably priced, especially for the most vulnerable segments of the population.
By managing price stability, the FCCC is not only helping households manage their budgets but also reinforcing its commitment to consumer welfare and equitable market practices.
This reduction in fuel prices is a hopeful sign for consumers, indicating that regulatory measures are being effectively implemented to shield families from the economic pressures of volatility in global markets.
