Joel Abraham, the CEO of the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC), emphasizes that ensuring affordability for Fijian families is a primary focus of their efforts. He points out that these recent price adjustments illustrate the FCCC’s commitment to protecting consumers from the impacts of global market fluctuations. Abraham acknowledges the burden of rising costs on everyday life and asserts that through vigilant monitoring and regulatory measures, the FCCC strives to keep essential commodities like fuel accessible, especially for the most vulnerable populations. He adds that by maintaining these prices, they not only aid household budgets but also reinforce their dedication to consumer welfare and fair market practices.

This positive development in fuel pricing provides relief to many households, demonstrating a responsive approach to the economic challenges faced by consumers. Overall, the FCCC’s commitment to monitoring prices is a hopeful sign for continued consumer protection in Fiji.
