New fuel prices will take effect tonight at midnight, resulting in increases across the board. Motor spirit will see a rise of 5 cents, bringing the price from $2.62 per litre to $2.67. The cost of premix fuel will increase by 8 cents, changing from $2.43 per litre to $2.51. Diesel prices will also go up by 9 cents, shifting from $2.18 to $2.27 per litre.

Kerosene will now be priced at $1.74 per litre, reflecting a 7-cent increase. Additionally, the cost of a 4.5kg gas cylinder will rise by 38 cents, from $14.97 to $15.35, while a 12kg gas cylinder will see an increase of $1.01, moving from $39.91 to $40.92. Finally, Autogas will experience a 6-cent rise, adjusting from $2.16 to $2.22 per litre.

This price increase reflects broader economic trends and challenges in the energy sector. While price hikes can pose hardships for consumers, they may also encourage more efficient energy use and the exploration of alternative energy sources in the long term, fostering sustainability and innovation in energy consumption.
