Spread the love

Effective January 1, 2025, the prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), diesel, and kerosene are set to rise. Consumers will find that a 4.5 kg cylinder of LPG will now cost $15.53, marking an increase of 18 cents from the previous price of $15.35. The price for a 12 kg cylinder will also rise by 50 cents, bringing it to $41.42.

Additionally, the cost of bulk LPG will increase by four cents to $3.20 per kg, and autogas prices will go up by three cents, now costing $2.25 per litre. Prices for diesel and kerosene will see an increase of four cents per litre, with diesel now priced at $2.31 and kerosene at $1.78. However, the retail prices for motor spirit and premix remain unchanged at $2.67 and $2.51 per litre, respectively.

While price increases can be challenging for consumers, it’s important to recognize that such adjustments are often influenced by global market trends, supply chains, and other economic factors. As the year progresses, advocacy for sustainable energy sources may hopefully bring about more stable energy prices in the future.

In summary, while the increases reflect the current market realities, they also underline the ongoing discussions around energy sustainability and the importance of exploring alternative energy solutions.
