Pacific Energy is launching a charitable initiative by installing collection bins at eight service station locations across Fiji, in collaboration with Atpack Fiji Ltd. This effort, executed alongside the Pacific Recycling Foundation, is designed to facilitate a Christmas gift and stationery drive aimed at benefiting children from families engaged in the Collection Pillars of Recycling (CPR) program.
The CPR program supports families who work tirelessly to gather recyclables from dump sites and public areas under challenging circumstances. As a result, these families play an essential role in Fiji’s recycling and waste management systems, significantly contributing to environmental sustainability.
Stephane Cadel, the CEO of Pacific Energy, expressed pride in continuing the partnership with the Pacific Recycling Foundation for the second consecutive year. He stated that this year, they’ve expanded their initiative by adding collection bins at eight service stations, enabling customers to easily donate gifts and support the children of these industrious families. The goal of this drive is to spread holiday cheer and provide necessary school supplies to children who otherwise may lack access to these essential items.
Cadel emphasized that genuine partnerships extend beyond business transactions, highlighting the importance of shared values and community engagement. He stated, “We are who you are,” reflecting the company’s commitment to the welfare and success of the communities they serve.
Collection bins will be placed at Pacific Energy service stations in locations including Nabua, Kinoya, Nausori, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba. Donations will be accepted until Wednesday, December 4, the final day for drop-offs.
This initiative illustrates a hopeful spirit of community solidarity during the holiday season, fostering a sense of togetherness and support for those in need.
