FSSRU Commits to Student Safety in School Events

Education Minister Aseri Radrodro has emphasized that the Fiji Secondary School Rugby Union (FSSRU) must prioritize student safety before, during, and after officially sanctioned school events.

Radrodro made this statement following a meeting with senior FSSRU executives and principals from two Eastern Zone schools.

The FSSRU has assured both Radrodro and the Ministry that incidents compromising student safety will not recur. They have outlined steps to ensure future games are incident-free.

The Union guarantees constant supervision and will inform schools about the expected behavior of their students and supporters, along with necessary safety measures.

To further enhance oversight, Ministry of Education District and Divisional Officers will be present at all game venues to ensure the smooth conduct of the remaining matches in the Deans Competition.

Principals from the two schools, known for their strong rugby programs, have also reinforced the importance of stringent supervision, fair play, and maintaining student safety.
