The Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union (FSSRU) has issued an apology to Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and the public for inaccurately attributing the closure of HFC Stadium to him in a recent circular. The organization acknowledges the confusion and any offense this may have caused. Moving forward, the FSSRU has committed to ensuring that their communications are more rigorously vetted for accuracy.

As a result of this miscommunication, the FSSRU has retracted their earlier statement and released a corrected circular that clarifies that the decision to close the HFC Stadium resides with the Fiji Sports Council, not the Prime Minister. The FSSRU expressed their respect for the Prime Minister and highlighted their dedication to responsible communication.

In other news, the Vodafone Deans playoffs and Weet-Bix Raluve quarterfinals are set to take place this Saturday at Buckhurst and Bidesi grounds in Suva. The quarterfinals are scheduled for next weekend at Churchill Park and Prince Charles Park, with the semifinals at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. The venue for the national finals remains to be confirmed.

This situation highlights the importance of clear communication in sports administration. As the FSSRU prepares for a busy tournament schedule, they are demonstrating their commitment to transparency and accountability, ensuring that such issues are minimized in the future. The excitement surrounding the upcoming matches indicates a strong community interest in youth rugby, presenting a positive outlook for the sport in Fiji.
