Peggy Ravusiro’s journey has taken a momentous turn as her graduation marks not just an achievement but the dawn of a new chapter in her life. The newly graduated doctor is also stepping into the spotlight as the representative of the Northern Division in the Fiji Pageant, showcasing her versatility and dedication to both her passion for medicine and her commitment to community service.

Originally from Papua New Guinea with maternal ties to Kadavu, Ravusiro reflects on her unique circumstances where the timing between her graduation and pageant participation has aligned harmoniously. She views this dual experience as a testament to her resilience and perseverance, serving as an inspiration for young girls who may face challenges similar to hers.

In her own words, “I just want to encourage all the girls out there: if it’s hard, you do it. It’s a character-development moment. Don’t shy away from it, and I really do believe in the capabilities of each moment.” Ravusiro emphasizes that the journey through medical school, which spanned six years, involved engaging with the most vulnerable individuals in society, a process that profoundly shaped her character and outlook.

Balancing the demands of rigorous medical training with the responsibilities of participating in two pageants posed significant challenges, yet Ravusiro remains resolute in her message to the younger generation. She encourages them to embrace difficult moments, emphasizing that these experiences play a crucial role in personal development.

Her aspiration to enter the medical field is deeply rooted in her experiences with patients and recognizing how illness can affect people across all walks of life. She acknowledges the unwavering support of her community, her strong will to give her best effort, and her faith in God’s grace as pivotal influences that guide her as she embarks on her mission to serve others. Ravusiro’s story exemplifies the power of determination and the importance of following one’s passions, all while contributing positively to society.
