At 39, the former teacher from Sabeto, Nadi, recently celebrated her graduation with a Bachelor of Teaching in Primary Inservice from the University of Fiji at Saweni Campus, Lautoka.

However, rather than viewing this as a defeat, she embraced it as an opportunity for personal growth and educational advancement. “I believe everything happens for a reason. Losing my job gave me the chance to focus on higher education. I’m hopeful to return to teaching next year and continue advancing my studies,” she remarked.
Balancing her studies with family duties, Ms. Besetimoala, a mother of four and married to a villager from Moala Island, Lau, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of her husband, parents, and in-laws. “This degree is dedicated to them,” she said, highlighting the collective effort behind her success.
