Nineteen-year-old Jordan Miller, who first visited Fiji with the Australian schoolboys in 2022, is now making waves as part of the Vodafone Fiji Bati team. This marks a significant highlight in his rugby league career.
Originally from Australia, Miller’s roots trace back to Savusavu through his father. He expressed his excitement about training alongside seasoned players and NRL stars who inspired him, including Tui Kamikamica, Maika Sivo, and Viliame Kikau.
Miller credited coach Waisake Kativerata for the opportunity to debut for the Bati, starting his first match from the bench.
“I’ve always wanted to play for Fiji,” he remarked. “Training with these accomplished players feels surreal. It’s quite extraordinary that I’m here so soon, and I am thankful for this chance.”
He shared that the team culture has been enriching, emphasizing the energetic atmosphere during the camp, which includes two daily devotion sessions.
Miller recently signed a three-year contract with the Tigers and made his NRL debut in Round 15 against the Titans, contributing to a victory of 18-10. In September 2022, he was honored as the player’s player and best and fairest at the Wests Magpies Harold Matthews Cup U17s during their Junior Representative Award night.
