Former Paradise Roots band member Aisea Buliruarua is pursuing a new chapter in Suva’s volleyball community while trading in his musical career for sports. Currently part of the Avengers team, Buliruarua is passionately working towards his dream of representing Suva and eventually hopes to wear the legendary white jersey of the Fiji national volleyball team.
Buliruarua’s transition to volleyball signifies a remarkable blend of his two interests in music and sports. “It’s always been a dream for me to represent Suva in volleyball. I’m just thankful for the opportunity that’s been given to me this year. I think everyone’s goal is to wear that white jersey of Fiji one day,” he expressed, echoing the aspirations shared by many young athletes.
Balancing two creative pursuits has posed its challenges, yet Buliruarua remains dedicated to excelling in both. He acknowledges the encouragement of senior players in the Suva volleyball community for inspiring him to refine his skills. His determination was recently demonstrated when he proudly sported the Suva colors during the Vulaca Championship at the FMF Gymnasium, which marked a pivotal moment in his volleyball journey.
