After a four-year hiatus to care for her two children, Maria Adimainatuvu celebrated her graduation from the University of the South Pacific yesterday. Overcome with emotion, she proudly accepted her Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Management, marking the beginning of her dream career in the tourism sector.

“Completing this degree has greatly improved my self-esteem and given me a sense of accomplishment,” Ms. Adimainatuvu expressed.

She acknowledged the challenges of managing family duties while being away from her studies. “It wasn’t an easy journey, but it has been rewarding,” she noted. Despite facing numerous setbacks, she remained determined to create a better future for her children.

Ms. Adimainatuvu feels that her achievement sets a strong example for her children about the value of education, perseverance, and self-improvement. Her experience juggling family responsibilities while returning to school has sharpened her problem-solving skills and adaptability.

Deeply committed to her family values, she takes pride in fostering a supportive home environment. Originally from Kaba Village in Tailevu, the 27-year-old believes that with encouragement from peers, friends, and family, she can continue to achieve her goals.
