“From Loss to Triumph: A Contestant’s Journey at Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024”

Rowena Acraman is demonstrating remarkable resolve as she competes in the Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024, despite the recent loss of her grandmother. The former radio journalist, who has ambitious goals in human rights and climate change, is one of nine contestants vying for the title.

Backed by Miss APCO Coatings, Acraman reflected on her academic journey, which encompassed three years of hard work. She credits her friends for helping her overcome various hurdles throughout her studies.

“Pursuing both journalism and psychology was a personal challenge,” Ms. Acraman stated, emphasizing her resilience in facing difficulties at home. “The hard work and sleepless nights have truly paid off.”

As she partakes in the festival activities this week, Acraman describes the experience as magical, filled with mixed emotions. Beyond her educational accomplishments, she is also a talented artist, singer, and musician, proficient in both the guitar and ukulele.

Ms. Acraman aims to join a non-governmental organization focused on human rights and climate change. Although juggling work and studies posed challenges, she successfully maintained a stable income while completing her degree.
