Two talented athletes from Lakeba, Lau, Vilisoni Loga and Wilson Kotoisuva, are making waves in the world of volleyball by venturing into beach volleyball competitions in Suva. Their recent triumph in the Suva Volleyball Association (SVA) beach series showcases the importance of stepping outside one’s comfort zone, as they aim to motivate young athletes to seize new opportunities.

The duo is preparing for the upcoming Fiji Beach Volleyball series set for February 22 at Laucala Beach Volleyball court, building on their recent victory. Both players are associated with the Avengers Men’s Club within Suva Volleyball and have primarily been indoor volleyball players until now.

Loga, a 21-year-old second-year Bachelor of Arts student at the University of the South Pacific, had dedicated three years to indoor volleyball before embracing the novel challenge of beach volleyball. Remarkably, neither Loga nor Kotoisuva, who is balancing a full-time job alongside his sports ambitions, had prior experience in beach volleyball before embarking on this journey. They entered the SVA Beach Series without a coach, relying on their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment, ultimately securing a victory against more seasoned competitors.

Loga expressed his excitement about trying something different, stating, “I wanted to try something different, and when the chance to compete in the series came up, I was happy.” Their shared passion and perseverance have turned their inexperience into an inspiring quest for success.

Their story encapsulates the values of hard work, resilience, and bravery in the face of challenges. By encouraging young athletes to explore new avenues and embrace challenges, Loga and Kotoisuva hope to inspire the next generation to transcend their limits and achieve greatness.

In summary, Loga and Kotoisuva’s journey illustrates that with dedication and teamwork, newcomers can achieve remarkable success, serving as a beacon of hope for aspiring athletes everywhere.
