Under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme, Delana has focused on utilizing the income from her work as a fruit picker to create meaningful benefits for her loved ones.
Upon her arrival in Australia, Mrs. Delana set clear objectives, prioritizing her child’s well-being. In her first year of employment, she utilized her earnings to construct a home for her nuclear family in Kadavu, where her husband and child reside. Her thoughtful planning and financial discipline reflect her commitment to securing her family’s future.
With determination, Mrs. Delana continued to make significant contributions in subsequent years. In her second year, she invested in a fiber boat and engine, which she had shipped to her island to improve transportation and create an additional source of income. By her third year, she expanded her entrepreneurial spirit by opening a small canteen in her village, further diversifying her income streams.
As her four-year visa approaches its conclusion, Mrs. Delana intends to return to Australia for an additional nine months, aiming to accumulate savings to launch a small business. Her steadfast dedication to investing her hard-earned money into ventures that promise ongoing returns is commendable.
