Ana Yabakivou, a determined 18-year-old, has successfully graduated with a Certificate IV in Organic Agriculture from the Naleba Training Centre in Labasa, despite facing academic setbacks. Ana, who dropped out of Year 12 after not passing her Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination (FY12CE) last year, has shown remarkable perseverance and optimism for her future.
Alongside 33 other graduates, Ana celebrated her accomplishment, attributing her success to the unwavering support of her family, particularly her grandmother, Anasimeci Solokai. Her grandmother expressed overwhelming pride during the graduation ceremony, emphasizing that with family support and determination, success is achievable.
Looking ahead, Ana plans to further her studies in agriculture, considering enrollment at either the Fiji National University’s Koronivia campus or the University of the South Pacific. Her aspirations are clear: she dreams of securing a stable job to ensure her family’s financial well-being.
Reflecting on her time at the training center, Ana shared the challenges of adapting to life away from home, particularly living in the dormitory. However, these experiences have only strengthened her resolve. She encourages other students who may be feeling discouraged, reminding them that there are always opportunities to advance in life, regardless of the obstacles they may face.
Ana’s story serves as an inspiring reminder of resilience. With the right support system and a determined mindset, individuals can overcome challenges and achieve their goals, fostering hope for future possibilities in their educational and professional journeys.
