Waisale Taufa Tavatuilagi recently overcame significant challenges, including depression, to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Finance from the University of the South Pacific. This accomplishment was a long-cherished dream for Mr. Tavatuilagi, who had aspired to become a lawyer a decade earlier but had to shift his focus when that goal did not materialize.
Determined to pursue a career as a bank officer and to join the USP alumni, Mr. Tavatuilagi credits his success to a positive mindset and a strong support network. He emphasized the importance of surrounding himself with quality people and expressed gratitude for his family’s unwavering support throughout his journey.
Reflecting on his battle with depression, he described it as one of the biggest challenges he faced while working toward his degree. Mr. Tavatuilagi acknowledged the encouragement he received from peers who believed in him and motivated him to persevere despite various struggles and setbacks. He expressed deep gratitude for the role of faith and the gift of family and friendship in his journey.
