Discipline and passion have driven Muizz Mujib Buksh to achieve significant milestones, culminating in several awards at the Vunimoli Islamia College (VIC) prizegiving ceremony held on Wednesday. As the head boy of VIC in Labasa, Muizz earned the prestigious Leadership Award, secured the highest marks in Agricultural Science, received an athletics award, and received special recognition for his contributions to the school’s football team.

Currently a Year 13 student, Muizz boasts an impressive athletic track record, having won gold in the 3000 meters at the Macuata athletics zone two competition and competing in the 3000m final at the renowned Coca-Cola Games.

When discussing how he manages to balance his academic commitments with sports, Muizz attributes much of his success to the support and guidance from his parents. He believes that with determination and the right mindset, “nothing is impossible,” and aims to inspire his peers to pursue their dreams while making their school proud, just as he has through his dedication to athletics and leadership roles.

Expressing gratitude for the encouragement he has received from teachers, parents, and classmates, Muizz dreams of becoming a veterinarian. He shared that he has applied to enroll at Massey University in New Zealand to further his education next year.
