The FIJI Water Flying Fijians will field a team with several key players missing for the 2024 Pacific Nations Cup, allowing six new talents to join the squad. Among the notable absences are Waisea Nayacalevu, Semi Radradra, Levani Botia, Peniasi Dakuwaqa, and Josua Tuisova.
Head Coach Mick Byrne addressed the young players, highlighting the importance of authenticity. “The message to all our young players is to enjoy the selection and be who they are. They don’t have to come in and do anything special now that they’ve joined the Flying Fijians,” he stated.
Byrne further expressed confidence that the newcomers would inject energy into the team, while also stressing the need for them to remain calm and not to overwhelm themselves with expectations.
