The New England Free Jacks have announced the signing of Fijian Drua prop Jone Koroiduadua. The club made the confirmation in a statement released last Friday, expressing that Koroiduadua’s addition will significantly enhance their front row as they seek to build upon their recent achievements in Major League Rugby (MLR).

Koroiduadua, a 25-year-old from Nalebaleba in Nadroga, joined the Drua during their inaugural season in 2022 after spending two years with Clermont in the French Top 14. He also played for the Drua in 2019. The club praised Koroiduadua as one of the brightest emerging talents from Fiji, highlighting his ability to bring exceptional power and physicality to the Free Jacks’ front row.

Despite his young age, Koroiduadua has an impressive rugby record, having participated in over 20 matches for the Fijian Drua across three seasons of Super Rugby Pacific and earning two caps for the Flying Fijians, which included his selection for the 2023 Rugby World Cup. He has also played for Nadroga in the Skipper Cup and represented the national Under-20 team.

The club emphasized Koroiduadua’s strength as a destructive scrummager on both sides of the scrum, noting his significant contributions to the quality of the Fijian Drua scrum in the previous Super Rugby Pacific season. Weighing in at 255 pounds, he is recognized as a powerful athlete who excels in collisions, both with and without the ball, making him a valuable addition to the Free Jacks’ forward pack. Additionally, the Free Jacks have also signed New Zealand lock Sam Caird for the season.
