The New England Free Jacks have welcomed Fijian Drua prop Jone Koroiduadua to their roster. The announcement was made in a club statement last Friday, highlighting Koroiduadua’s potential to enhance the team’s performance as they seek to build on their recent achievements in Major League Rugby (MLR).

Koroiduadua, a 25-year-old from Nalebaleba in Nadroga, joined the Drua in its inaugural season in 2022 after spending two years with Clermont in the French Top 14. He also had involvement with the Drua in 2019. The club emphasized that he is one of Fiji’s most promising young talents, expected to bring exceptional strength and physicality to the front row.

With over 20 appearances for the Fijian Drua across three seasons in Super Rugby Pacific and experience as part of the Flying Fijians, including participation in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Koroiduadua has an impressive rugby background. He has also played for Nadroga in the Skipper Cup and previously represented the national Under-20 team.

The statement highlighted Koroiduadua’s skills as an impactful scrummager, describing him as a vital component of the strong Fijian Drua scrum last season. Weighing 255 pounds, he is known for his power in collisions with or without the ball, making him a valuable addition to the Free Jacks’ forward pack.

Additionally, New Zealand lock Sam Caird is another international signing for the upcoming season.
