A fraud case involving former Fiji Rugby Union accountant Pawan Deo and his partner Subhashni Mudaliar has been postponed until January 21. The case was scheduled to be heard by Suva Magistrate Krishan Prasad; however, all matters in his court were adjourned due to the court not being in session.
Deo and Mudaliar are facing serious charges including conspiracy to defraud and unlawfully obtaining financial advantages. They are accused of misappropriating $53,788.75 from the Fiji Rugby Union and facilitating fraudulent payments totaling $7,291.83 to Sports Supplies Ltd in 2022.
This case highlights the importance of accountability and integrity in organizations, particularly in managing funds. As the legal process unfolds, it is crucial to ensure that justice is upheld for all parties involved.
The case’s adjournment allows more time for thorough examination of the allegations, and there remains hope that the legal proceedings will lead to a fair resolution.
