Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the only goal of the match in the fifth minute, leading France to a 1-0 victory over Argentina and securing their place in the semifinals of the men’s football competition at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Although Michael Olise’s late goal was disallowed due to an infringement in the build-up, France remained composed and managed to navigate through ten minutes of added time to confirm their progression.
In the semifinals, France will face Egypt, while Spain will play against Morocco in the other semifinal match.
