Four Defendants Deny Disturbing Rape Charges in Court

A juvenile and three men accused of raping a 13-year-old girl have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them and have had their bail extended. The four individuals appeared in court before Justice Pita Bulamainaivalu on Thursday to respond to charges approved by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The juvenile faces one count of rape, while his co-defendants are charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. DPP prosecutor Zenith Zunaid informed the court that in a video recorded caution interview, two of the men and the juvenile admitted their involvement, whereas the fourth accused acknowledged being at the location but denied any wrongdoing.

The group is scheduled to appear again on November 24 for their first pre-trial conference.
