A delegation from the Chinese government’s Ministry of Commerce and the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) visited the Ministry of Civil Service (MCS) in Suva.
The Department of China-Aid Training oversees all training programs facilitated by AIBO.
During the delegation’s visit, Permanent Secretary Mr. Parmesh Chand expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for their support, which has benefited thousands of public servants over the years. He noted that over 100 Fijian public servants traveled to China this year for targeted training programs and expressed confidence that they returned equipped with valuable knowledge and skills to implement in their roles.
Chand indicated that this visit has strengthened training and human resource development ties between Fiji and China. He stated, “The meeting gave us a chance to share knowledge, explore opportunities to further our shared goals, and exchange ideas.”
Civil servants who previously participated in AIBO trainings attended the meeting and shared how the program has fostered their professional development.
