Jone Usamate, an opposition MP, has praised the impact and leadership of former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, stating he continues to be a key figure for Fiji.
Usamate expressed his comments on his social media page, hailing Bainimarama’s vision of a country free of ethnic and religious divisions as a standard that is now reaching widespread acceptance. He further declared that this egalitarian stance should constitute Fiji’s path forward.
Usamate highlighted that Bainimarama had advocated all inhabitants to identify as Fijian, noting the country, and even former dissenters, is now adopting this call for equality.
