The sentencing of former Post Fiji CEO Anirudha Bansod has been postponed to August 7 by the Suva Magistrate’s Court. Bansod appeared before Magistrate Yogesh Prasad, with his lawyer Devanesh Sharma and prosecution lawyer Arieta Vaganalau present.
Magistrate Prasad has requested both parties to clarify several issues, emphasizing the central matter of conflict of interest. Sharma argued that the bid was fairly submitted and any conflict of interest was merely perceived, asserting that Bansod was not involved in the selection of the tender winner. Vaganalau countered that there was indeed a conflict of interest, as Bansod failed to declare his acquaintance with the bidders.
Prasad emphasized the need for thorough consideration and instructed both parties to prepare and submit their arguments within the next seven days. Bansod is accused of making false declarations regarding confidentiality and conflict of interest concerning the tender process for the Post Fiji Mobile Application project in 2022.
