The Football National Premier League has officially kicked off its second round today, although it does so without a newly confirmed major sponsor. The Fiji Football Association has been engaged in efforts to find new sponsorship after the previous agreement with Digicel came to an end.

Fiji FA’s General Manager of Operations, Anushil Kumar, has confirmed that potential sponsors are in the pipeline, and while they have been secured, the association is currently finalizing all necessary paperwork and logistics before announcing the sponsor’s name.

The matches commence this afternoon, starting with Tavua against Nadi at Garvey Park at 3 pm. Following today’s game, a series of matches is scheduled for tomorrow: Nadroga will face Navua at Lawaqa Park at 1 pm, Nasinu will take on Lautoka at the Uprising Ground at 3 pm, Rewa will go up against Labasa at Ratu Cakobau Park at the same hour, and Suva will host Ba at the HFC Bank Stadium, also commencing at 3 pm.

Fans can enjoy live commentary on Radio Fiji 2 for the exciting fixture between Navua and Nadroga.

This weekend’s series of matches not only ignites the competitive spirit within local football but also serves as a platform for emerging talents and seasoned players. The league’s navigation through challenges such as sponsorship instability exemplifies the resilience and dedication of the teams and supporters. As the season unfolds, football enthusiasts remain hopeful for engaging matches and the resurgence of robust community support.
